(8,239 posts)Guns will not need to be confiscated, people will simply turn them in. We simply are not there yet.
Unfortunately there will be a lot of corpses along the path. At some point down this path however, the stigma of owning a gun or even being associated with a person who owns them, will be sufficient to get nearly all of them turned in voluntarily.
We are already on this path, and sufficient legal and "proud" gun owners are willing to regularly litter the path with corpses, so the outcome is inevitable. The only real question is how long the path is and how many corpses will it take to get to the end.
Get used to the concept.
The constitution and laws will be changed last when almost no one owns and almost no one could imagine ever wanting to.
