184. I have been in both the military and law enforcement- neither body would do the confiscation

LE do it? Not going to happen in most of the country. You may get them to do it in places like NYC, Chicago, LA and bog cities. In the other 99% of the country it just isn't happening.

You already have Sheriffs and Police Chiefs in NY and CO refusing to enforce gun control laws passed by the state. You have many that actively encourage gun ownership among their residents- right down to gun raffles in some places.

Its illegal to use the military, Posse Comitatus prohibits it. Even if that was changed, the military is very conservative overall and even more so in the officer ranks. Ordering them to do it would at best result in them sitting it out refusing to act- I could see it leading to a coup.

The only military force that can legally do it is the National Guard when under state control and not Federal. That requires the states Governor to be on board first, and the NG is an even more conservative a group than the active Army.

That leads you with Federal LE- and there are not enough of them to do it.

Good luck- the DU anti-gunners better start training and forming their own "gun confiscation militia" to get it done.
