The suggestion that there's a racial component to Darth Vader's costume is obviously absurd.

The response that no, the connection between darkness and evil and light and good is nothing to do with race, and goes back a long, long way, is spot on. It is indeed in the bible, although it's much older than the bible is - in some form it almost certainly predates spoken language, right back to our diurnal simian ancestors.

If you're really looking for something to take issue with, the claim that "political correctness is going to be responsible for killing more Americans" is silly.

But other than that, at least as far as the quoted passages go (she may have said other silly things in the interview that aren't quoted here) Turner is largely right, and Perry is straightforwardly wrong.
