3. I used to feel that way, in part because I lack any stomach for the work

But as I've gotten older, I've learned that a wide range of people enter politics: some of them smarter than others, some of them more principled than others, some more compassionate than others, some of them better educated than others, some of them holding views closer to my own than others, some of them more effective than others

Doing the job well can be hard work. And they're just people, like you and me

So I've gradually come to admire some of the folk who have the devotion, energy, patience, and wits needed
