(26,549 posts)31. Low interest rates also reduce unemployment and generally boost the economy.
You can go too low, but we really haven't figured out what that is these days. It used to be considered 5% unemployment would lead to massive inflation. We're now at around 4% with very little inflation.

Well, yeah Congress can always amend the SS Act. But until they do that, it's pretty much a market

I think they have driven rates down in the hopes of spurring job creating business.
