5 times higher than that. Ten years ago I got a nasty cut on a finger. I got four stitches, they bandaged it (didn't send me home with extra material), and a tetanus shot. I paid $50 copay (ER copay now 200), and they billed my insurance company $5k. Medical billing in this country is out of control.
