(58,785 posts)little to lose, or a risk-taker who is willing to put it on the line for the hope of inner-circle power. I suspect most of those above would not throw away what they have.
Just guessing of course: Christie probably makes both lists. Cruz probably no for the first reason, but possibly as a supra-ambitious risk-taker; he might also count on God to remove barriers to power; bad, bad fit with Trump. Gingrich no, a sociopath who could act sucky for a while if it suited his purposes, but he's an insane choice that I'd assume Trump's advisers would be dead set against.
Guessing, Kasich might just be the ultrawealthy funders' first choice for their man inside even though he refused the idea, and might make a good sucker-upper, very religious, conceivably willing to try for a chance at inside power and influence on SCOTUS appointments, unlikely to be put off by the campaign's appeal to bigotry, but, unlikely or no, he may be the most likely draft candidate.
My money's on some dead-career person I don't know anything about. Like a "general." Reportedly, Trump thinks "generals" are cool.
