for 22 years. Still have a house there (Chandler Village) that a friend is renting to own. When Hugo hit, a tree on the lot behind me fell across my backyard fence toward my house, broke the fence and clipped my roof. This time, one of my trees split in half, but the limb (size of a tree trunk) fell across the backyard and missed the fence and the house. No other damage. So glad my friend took his wife and 4 little boys to his mother's (no trees near the house) and were unharmed. My neighbors and friends all survived unscathed, too. I
miss the Lowcountry, but not the storms. Hope you didn't have any damage, and that Grits is ok.

I worked at the International Primate Protection League Gibbon Sanctuary in Knightsville after I retired from the Navy. Heard they had lots of trees down, etc, but no injuries to the Gibbons or otters. Think they're looking for volunteers to help with cleanup.

Has anyone heard from grits? [View all] gwheezie Oct 2016 OP
