Many times, starting around the age of 5 or 6, when I was fondled by a neighbor's boyfriend. In each instance (except for the attempted rape when I was in the Navy-my CO would have blamed me, and my career would have been ruined), I reported the situation to the appropriate adult. I always had my parents support.

Others, like my church youth group counselors, not so much-I was grilled by them about what I had done to make the boys do that. Never got over that, as I really looked up to, and trusted those two. She was the the Director of Christian Education, and he was the summer interim student pastor, and I was about 12 or 13 at the time. I thought my mother was going to kill them when I told her about it. Don't think I've ever seen her quite so angry.
