Including empathy. Feel bad for me, but not the other side. Everyone can justify and rationalize anything they want. Everybody does that. Whoever is on the other side is usually considered to be just bad enough, that it's not worth the effort. People usually end up being lumped into the extreme of whatever side they happen to be on, because it's easier to demonize whoever the other side is that way. Then nobody has to listen to anyone, because then you might agree with people on the other side about something, and they're bad, but of course you're not bad, so you can't do that.

That seems to be the reality of being human. We're all guilty of it to some degree.
