(65,336 posts)41. One reason why we can count on African Americans to do whatever they must to
get past the obstacles the right wingers deliberately create to suppress their vote is that they--i.e., black voters--are intensely aware of the sacrifices made to protect their right to vote. When the evil RWers try to suppress the black vote, it just reinforces their resolve, so they stand in line for hours if they have to do so in order to cast their vote because they know how important it is.
We have long been able to count on African American voters to show up for us. I hope this election will help convince women, Latinx voters, and young voters to show up and vote in every election--including midterms and state & local elections. If those groups start doing that, we will keep winning at all levels.
