(1,019 posts)56. It is amazing to me that it took nearly 100 years! Imagine...
if these women - and the men who stood with them - had given up!? I am only now realizing the value and significance of the "commitment and sacrifices of the suffragettes" (well said btw) in this election where we have the first opportunity to vote for and elect the first female president. To me, it finally brings home the accomplishment of the movement for womens' right to vote; meaning this issue comes full circle.
