6. The weird thing about the story

is that the statement saying that no emails to or from Hillary Clinton were found on the computer was buried as a single paragraph in the story without clear attribution. That should have been the headline of the story. How good are the LA Times reporters? I think that should have been the lead item in the story. By definition, unless her assistant claims Clinton compelled her to do something illegal, it has no bearing on any legal proceedings for Clinton.

If it is the case, then I think Comey is toast. If I was Clinton's staff I would be on the phone with that reporter to determine the validity of that statement. That is something that I think they can force Comey to clearly state. That shouldn't take that long to verify. Frankly I don't think it should take long to determine whether these are new emails or ones previously disclosed. Maybe I don't understand how these email systems work.

If it is state department business it is pretty sloppy even if unclassified keeping it on a shared computer. I guess I don't understand how the State department works, but we put nothing on personal computers with my employer. Our PDAs have to have a software wipe capability even if they are a personal device.
