Not quite as outrageous, but what the media chooses to cover, what it chooses to declare news is just as important as how it covers the news.

And agreed, voters seem to choose what supports their pre-conceived world view. But, on just unemployment, even though the number of unemployed went down, the number of living wage jobs did not rise. Far too much of the increase went to service sector jobs. So this could also be a question of how people approached the issue of employment.
