Add into the mix the the power plays by Russia, China and the ever growing instability in the Middle East/S.E. Asia. Then we can top it off with an inexperienced self-serving president about to become a reality in just over a month.

Yes, we have the potential for a perfect storm to test the strength of our system of democracy in the US. We should be able to ride out this current situation if the only forces we have to fight our those within our own borders. But, were fools if we think those looking to expand their global power aren't going to take advantage of our current situation. Of course they are, this what they've been working toward for decades.

Which leaves us living in a very interesting point in history.
