General Discussion
In reply to the discussion: NYT: Is Donald Trump a Threat to Democracy? [View all]no assertion. And it could be my perception. My perception is that there are very few differences now among democrats regardless of region.
One such example is illiegal immigration where many democratic constituents actually support immigration law enforcement while their representatives support amnesty. I am not aware of democratic politicians that are moderate on this issue but I am aware of democrats who voted for trump based on this single issue.
It is also my percetion that among republicans there are more differences based on region, covering wide range of issues: abortion, immigration, trade, education, etc.
P.S. I did not come to DU to preach to the choir. I came here to feel hopeful to understand what we can all do to not lose our country. One thing I quickly learned is that partisan politics is not it.
