I don't see how we are going to take back the government unless we find a way to convince these folks--and racism is imo behind the majority of Trump votes--that we dems care about what they (should) care about. Isolating--shunning--people is not a way to bring them to our way of thinking.
The racism of Trump supporters is appalling and beyond difficult to encounter, but I think we must find a way through conversation, not shouting and condemning, but *talking*, to help them see how wrong they are. The fact that multiracial couples are an everyday sight in TV ads is helpful to our cause; the normalization of interacting as equals with people whose skin color is different from your own ought to be a prime goal of our party.
