In reply to the discussion: Keith Ellison invites Tom Perez to be his guest for Trump's speech to Congress [View all]cadmium
(1,526 posts)Perez -- I listen to Bloomberg Surveillance most mornings. Bloomberg radio does a good mix of brief and long form economic orientated interviews--left, right, center, and nonpolitical. Sometimes they have had Perez on for a couple hours -- he gets peppered by questions from finance hosts and skeptical Wall St guests and he fields all of them in a positive, quick and logical way. Great at defending Obama policies. I'm sure that if he had a more prominent role in 2010 he would have done a great job defending Obamacare. We all know and love Keith. I actually think Perez is a better choice, with he main weakness being not having run for office himself. He's going to need help from more experienced politicians for help with electoral machinery. I hope Ray Buckley from New Hampshire stays involved -- he has done a great job getting Democrats elected in white republican New Hampshire. Tom Perez is also a native Spanish speaker, which doesn't hurt. I'm happy for them.
