(1,849 posts)Neither Hillary nor Bernie fit that description, nor does McAuliffe.Obama did, as did Bill Clinton in his day. I think the party should look at the younger candidates for the DNC chair, and some others that were discussed before the DNC election, as potential presidential candidates. I don't recall any names at the moment, but was interested in what I read about the "other" or potential candidates.
Both Hillary and Bernie were energizing to many, but for different reasons. And Bernie offered fresh ideas and a fresh face, even though he was an older candidate. Hillary would have been an amazing president, but she was too tied to the establishment for many, tainted rather than fresh for too many who didn't get out and vote.
If you want to get younger people(dems and independents) to vote, you need a younger, charismatic candidate, in my opinion
