It would be worse, I suppose, if the Media took their claim seriously. And as far as pressing them on it, I suppose that there is only so much you can say or do when dealing with crazy/delusional claims. At some point, it does get rather exasperating and tiring for sane and intelligent people to have to argue with crazy/delusional people. At some point, you do sort of have to shrug it off and move on.
