(8,678 posts)Once they started down that trail regarding Clinton to then come out with something about republican45 would have been met with everything from suspicion to complete condemnation and it could have dramatically impacted the integrity of an investigation into actual criminal actions as opposed to the bullshit witch hunt against Clinton.
Plus, to be honest, the impact to republicans from this will be dramatic and far reaching. Far more impactful than if it had come to light before the election.
By revealing the investigation on republican45 before Election Day, it may have got Clinton elected but it would have done little to no damage to the Republican Party.
Republican45 getting elected has caused a lot of republicans to hitch their wagons to him and if republican45 and other senior administration officials get impeached and/or arrested, that will do long term, "death kneel" level damage to the Party brand and its most controversial and troubling party members will left out in the cold, likely forever, because of it.
