1. Perhaps this is the one true tale atop a mountain of Stone's crazy conspiracies, but

I'm not ready to bet the farm on it. If Stone thought someone was trying to do him in, and he chose to leave the scene, why didn't he go right to the police? Or at least call them immediately?
