In reply to the discussion: I believe that Russian trolls are STILL TROLLING [View all]MGKrebs
(8,138 posts)is really all that helpful at this point. What happened happened, there are many points of view as to why. (Disclosure: I voter for Bernie in the primary and HRC in the general.)
If there are issues that come up going forward that require some context regarding the previous election, then sure. But just to try to convince others that someone was wronged or someone cheated or whatever just to "clear the air" I think is counterproductive. It doesn't clear any air. It may be cathartic to an individual to write those thoughts down and publish them, but I wouldn't have any expectation that it would "address the differences we have". It's likely to make them worse.
I think words like "troll" are being tossed around so frequently because we can all see the sensitivity even mentioning Bernie or Hillary elicits, and yet people keep bringing them up anyway. It's sensitive. Leave it alone for a while. Provoking one side or the other in that debate does not promote unity. Trying to find common ground moving forward promotes unity.
Don't get me wrong though, I'm not trying to tell anyone to shut up. I'm just saying that if your goal is unity, being provocative isn't likely a good path to get there.
