"Because the Civil War was started by Democrats who didn't like a Republican President. And the KKK was started by Democrats."

I hear conservatives making this stupid argument all the time as if the Democrats of that day were liberal. They like to pretend that both parties ideologies have not changed 180 degrees. But what I find even more funny is the same person who like to claim this are the same people who defend the confederate flag and monuments.
