7 or 8% of southern/rural racists/xenophobes/homophobes of any party tacked on gives him his support..Gerrymandering assures a republican house except for the rare upset here and there..
This is why we have such a hard time winning and getting anything done when we DO win.
Democrats always "cooperate" with republicans in office and republicans NEVER cooperate with Dems when we are in charge...
It sucks, but until our leaders realize that we have to be ruthless for at least 3 cycles if we ever do get control again, we will always suffer the consequences..
It makes me ill when I think of all the wonderful liberal voices that the public hardly got to hear over the last 3-4 decades, because our corporate media has set the default position as "middle/right" and our spokespeople were labeled as lefty kooks for the most part..
Shame on us all for letting it happen
