I lost Dad in 2004. I too miss this man who was always a man of honor and integrity. He was generous to a fault- the fault being I had to teach him to stop being stingy to himself. This may be a result of growing up in the depression, but he was never stingy with others. He lived his whole life in service to others. 2 stints in the U.S.Army, as a fireman, a teacher and a civil servant who worked tirelessly to help the downtrodden escape to a new life filled with hope and possibilities. And with all of that he shaped me as the man I am.

One of my sons just told me thanks for helping him be a better person. I am nearly crying as I write this. I told him that he helped me be a better person as well. Happy, happy Father's Day all you Dads.
