New documentary on Tea Party cult [View all]

Announcing A Brand New Documentary
No One In The Media Has Taken A Closer Look At The Tea Party Cult

First the bad news. Rasmussen has Obama losing to Romney by six points. Some might say that Rasmussen has a well known Republican "house effect." Perhaps, but those represent his worst numbers so far, which means the President is not moving in the right direction.

Steve Singeser at Daily Kos chalks it up to the Republican field "sucking the oxygen out of the room" ... and it's true. The Republican clown car will be getting exclusive attention from the media ...

... unless someone has a way to steal some of that attention.

As a matter of fact, I may have just the medicine. That's the trailer for the film.

Now, imagine this ...

Every media outlet in the country is going to be descending on Iowa, New Hampshire, South Carolina, Florida, Arizona and Michigan, in that order. The Republican field is tightly packed between two or three front runners.

It could be a long spring ... a long opportunity for Republicans to hog the media spotlight and get their message out on their terms.

We're already seeing the process of candidates like the grotesquely racist Ron Paul dissembling and covering up his true beliefs. The same with Newt Gingrich. Mitt Romney of course, has no true beliefs ... or wait, yes he does. He stuck his finger in the air and felt that gale force hot wind blowing from out of the tea party.

This primary campaign is a golden opportunity for the media to ask questions -- tough questions, critical questions -- about the Republican candidates and the tea party base they appeal to.

Those questions boil down to, "Who are these people?"

The media will never ask . They don't have time. They've got candidates to interview, and debates to watch, and rubber chickens to eat at enumerable fundraising events. Whenever will they have time to go out and meet the kooks who read Ron Paul's, or Newt Gingrich's, or Rick Santorum's, or Michelle Bachmann's newsletter?

Guess what? They don't have to. I've already done it. Back in the long hot summer of 2009 when tea partiers were out in all their glory, I was there with a camera and an incisive set of questions. I met tea partiers from rank and file sign carriers to the now Lieutenant Governor of Florida.

Do you think you know them? How many tea partiers --- also known as Republican caucus and primary voters --- have you talked to? I've talked to dozens, in detail about the nuts and bolts of their ideology.

I know their bottom line. I know what makes them tick. It is amazingly simple once you ask the right questions and cut through the fog of their rhetoric.

I have taken hour after hour of interviews with tea partiers, and distilled it down to a two hour documentary that answers the question, "who are these people."

You need to know.

Your neighbors need to know.

The media needs to know.

Yes, I can tell you ... but you won't remember what I tell you. Or you won't believe it. Or it won't sink in.

You need to see it. Everybody needs to see it.

At this moment, I have shown this film to fewer than a dozen people ... friends and family. Their reaction is nearly unanimous. "Wow. I never realized how radical those people are."

You won't believe it if I tell you ... but maybe you'll believe your own eyes.

Here is my plan. The Republican Presidential field is coming to primary states across the country. I plan to follow them, and set up screenings. While local Democrats are watching from the sidelines, I will give them something to do.

Do you belong to a local Democratic group? Would you like to sponsor an event? Would you like to use my film as an opportunity to motivate your local base ... maybe even raise some money?

Meanwhile, be sure to follow us on twitter @conceptguerilla. We are also on Facebook. We have a new Daily Kos diary. Please recommend it.

We'll see you on the tour!
