Yes, to everything you said about dogs. I am so sorry you lost your precious Penny. It sounds like she was your heart-dog, as my Layla is to me. The pain is unimaginable. Please be strong and know that your love for her can do amazing things for another precious one out there at a time when you are ready. The love you have for her can offer kindness for every precious dog you encounter until another curls up in your heart, secure for another many years.
I am certain that the relationship between human and dog companions is beyond just wonderful. You have known this for 9 years, I didn't find out until 2 years ago. You know something very beautiful in this world.

Thank you. We let them go together, she was blind, deaf, and 16 years old, then last Nov.
