(115,681 posts)Whether Delta was wrong or right, it wasn't a big deal. She got where she was going. They didn't kick her off the plane or drag her down the aisle or lose her luggage. She wasn't inconvenienced beyond not getting to sit in the very exact seat she wanted, even though the one she was moved to was in the same row. Most people would be a little annoyed, and maybe they'd complain to the airline later, then leave it at that because in the great universe of inconveniences and hassles this one was pretty damn small.
But no.
Narcissists can't tolerate being inconvenienced in any way. They regard anything of the sort as a personal affront WHICH MUST NOT BE TOLERATED, because DO YOU KNOW WHO I AM???
Speaking of which, there is a story, perhaps apocryphal, of one such arrogant big shot who was haranguing a gate agent because he couldn't get the first-class seat he wanted at the last minute, and he loudly asked her, "DO YOU KNOW WHO I AM?" Whereupon the gate agent got on the intercom and announced, "We have a gentleman here at the gate who doesn't know who he is. Can anyone help him?"
