With the dh retiring at the end of the year we need to go from employer-provided coverage to individual. Here (rural Michigan) we have the choice of two (silver) plans. One covers one of my two out-of-state docs, and the other covers neither. Our premium will be $1700.00/month, and we will have a $4500.00/person deductible. No matter what we would have been willing to spend, we couldn't have gotten a plan that would have completely met our needs, state, or federal marketplace. This is one of the shortcomings of the ACA--lack of choice.
