To me when I think of the 80s I think of when I was little. I couldn't tell you about current events at the time but I can remember the day that I got a Pound Purrie and the Cabbage Patch Kids that Santa brought me.
The only thing news related I slightly remember about the 80s was the 1988 election and deciding then that I was a Democrat. I was the 3rd grader debating in school on behalf of Michael Dukakis. I also remember asking my 2nd grade teacher what the difference between a liberal and conservative was.
