10. The fear of a genetic component to my Mom's Alzheimer's haunts me, every day
Mon Sep 18, 2017, 03:18 PM
Sep 2017

The only occurrences that anybody has seen started with my Mom and her sister. Now her brother has another form of dementia. Before that, people were living into their late 80's and mid 90's, with no cognitive issues.

I'm hoping that my seeming to take more after my Dad's family will be a positive, for me, but who knows. The women, in particular, seem to live long and very productive lives.

I'm going to have a 'sit down' with my nieces and nephews (I don't have any children) about my wishes and plans, should things start to go bad. I have NO desire to put anyone else through what my brother and I experienced.
