It's important to know if a mass killing is terror or JUST "gun violence"

20. Do the dead care that the guy in Las Vegas didn't leave a note, or didn't use religion to justify it

Are they less dead? Will the next victims of a mass shooting or even just the every day run of the mill gun violence that has become our reality be any less dead? Unfortunately a small, but vocal segment of our society has said that we can do absolutely nothing that might limit the capacity of people with guns to kill people. That same segment also highly overlaps with the people who think Muslims are inherently bad and are happy to ban them from the country. The difference being religion and skin color. In 2013, over 11,000 Americans died from gun violence excluding suicide, accidental deaths and undetermined. We lose our minds over 3,000 people dying on 9/11, but ignore over three times that number dying every year due to idiots and their guns.

Sure getting rid of guns wouldn't have stopped this guy, but it's incredibly silly to pretend that the far more limited form of violence gets a lot more attention than the far more common form.
