I like that. It provides an important perspective. And while I intend no comment on the charges against Senator Franken, I think that his speech yesterday suggested that he believes he is "taking one for the team."

I'm also reminded of Jesse Jackson's call, when he was in the presidential primaries years ago, to "keep hope alive." Like every human being, Jesse was imperfect. But he served as an important voice during some difficult days for democrats, and he accomplished a lot of good.
