A basic tenant of the Seven Day Adventists church is that women must be subservient to their husbands. Therefore Carson when he can condone refusing a women the choice to choose to have an abortion it can be seen as consistent with his religious principles. However, I would also like to point out that this is actually not in agreement with the church's teachings which allow for exceptions if the women's life are threatened, rape, incest and fetal malformation.
