(16,158 posts)32. I had my bar mitzvah at the western wall
It was part of a summer vacation. When we got to J'lem me and my dad walked over to the kotel from the hotel. Since we were not orthodox Jews we didn't pay any attention to the fence and walked up on the woman's side. After a few minutes of talking I started noticing all these women staring at us and then I clued in that we were on the "wrong" side. No one said anything though. It was kinda funny really.
