In my area there's a little chain called McCaulou's -- while Sears was dying these last few years, they grew from eight stores to ten. It seems to be still entirely possible to just ignore Amazon and do okay anyway.

I was surprised to see a smaller footprint Sears store reopen recently near me at a local mall.

I'm suspicious Lampert only made the offer so he wouldn't be remembered as the guy who killed Sears.

we bought all our household appliances at Sears. I used to by all my tools there as well...
