If the lender thinks there is a chance that it'll work out, they'll keep trying. If the borrower has gone full Alex Jones, grab it hard, to scare the rest of the rubes.
OTOH, once the lender has toggled over to repo, it's lizard brain time. Must Kill Borrower.
