4. You're clearly ignorant of Cuban/US history

Cubans were treated differently than any other refugees because the US was trying to quash Castro and communist Cuba. For many years, all Cubans had to do was reach the US territorial waters to be admitted to the US. In the 90's the policy changed and they actually had to make dry land. If they did so though, they were automatically allowed to pursue residency. Very much unlike any other nation's peoples.

After the Obama administration re-established relations with Cuba this policy was ended.

The Cubans trying to get here still, probably think Trump will be like the rest of the GOP and make an exception for them. The GOP and Cuban immigrants have long had a very close relationship. Many of the Cubans who immigrated to the US after Castro won the revolution were people who had been in business with the mafia and other GOP enterprises. So, of course, they became Republicans.

The second and third-generations who have been born here are a lot less Republican.
