However, I'm fairly certain I heard Klobuchar mention and emphasize the joint hearing was about facts and NOT politics.

Indicating that is how this joint committee would proceed. I feel like if that isn't an indication that it is a rule that they were to go by, then there is no point mentioning that reference, in fact no point in holding a hearing on this at all, particularly since an independent commission is about to be formed and given the authority to proceed with hearings etc.

This was just a stupid exercise in so called oversight. Unfortunate really.
