In reply to the discussion: Bronx senator calls on 'Monster' Cuomo to resign amidst new harassment allegations [View all]George II
(67,782 posts)23. I'm not a fan of him, either, but he's grown into the job in the last few years.....
His father was 10X the Governor he is, though.
This should be investigated and, until that happens, people should not be drawing conclusions or even speculating.
But I find this highly suspicious, with his re-election looming in the near future and at the height of his approval ratings, all of a sudden this comes out?
As far as the Boylan accusation is concerned, there appear to be holes in it. At the beginning of her "Medium" article she says:
We were flying home from an October 2017 event in Western New York on his taxpayer-funded jet.
New York State doesn't own any jets, just turboprops! That alone makes me highly skeptical.
Recall that Lindsey Boylan was a Justice Democrats endorsed candidate in the primary against Jerrold Nadler last year, and she's now a candidate for Manhattan Borough President.
She apparently has had a bone to pick with the Democratic Party since 2019. This is a pay site, but here's an excerpt:
In late February, Lindsey Boylan, a former adviser to New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo, received a pointed email from a powerful acquaintance.
The sender, a prominent Democratic party donor and activist, told Boylan that her plan to run for the Democratic nomination against incumbent Rep. Jerry Nadler of New York was a lost cause, and that she may have already "seriously impaired" her political future by simply considering the challenge.
The message a common one communicated by establishment figures to primary challengers, if not normally in writing alarmed Boylan, but also hardened her resolve, she said.
"That was really intended to be a veiled threat," Boylan told INSIDER. "And if that happens to someone like me who's had all these great advantages and is comparatively in a place of opportunity, it's hard to imagine what happens to other people and other women."

Makes one wonder, if the Democratic Party was so "anti-women" (they're NOT) back then, why wasn't this current claim aired back in 2019?

I caught that. I guess in her mind no investigation could be impartial, so Cuomo should just go....

It isn't appropriate to ask women subordinates 1/2 my age if they like affairs with older men?

Cuomo made some inappropriate choices. Trump's assaults/ harassment of women was much worse, imo.

Spitzer, Weiner have all been disgraced, but they are not in "monster" category. Ask Cosby.
