KCP unexplainably voted against legalizing medical marijuana, and was absent for most of her legislative votes.

Those two issues made a big difference to many voters, the medical marijuana TV commercial was powerful.

TC had to huddle with Republicans occasionally to get things done, but it wasn’t enough to dissuade voters. They know sometimes you have to compromise, the PACs supporting KCP were immature in their approach to this governing principle.
