(14,164 posts)"serves them right" is maybe going too far. But its pretty hard not to make a cynical black humour kind of joke when we are witnessing them literally kill themselves because of irrational anti-science views and irresponsibly selfish decisions.
Always seems to be a minority who decide to ignore reason. In some ways, all you can do is laugh. Vonnegut's Breakfast of Champions helped me to see that there is a part of life that is a complete joke by God. And these MAGATs are voluntarily setting themselves up as the punchline. Its hard to suppress my laughter.
I guess one can be more polite, and resist to feel the schadenfreude, bite your tongue so you don't crack a smile, but sorry, I'm done being polite. These people are spreading COVID blithely, purposely. They are a danger to other humans. I have zero sympathy for them.
