Our laws need to change to better protect tenants and require landlords to maintain properties to a state of at least adequate living conditions, with not just fines but felony charges for failing to do so. Given Trump’s ability to pay no federal taxes for years, the whole real estate tax laws also need to change. Evidently, our real estate tax laws are the best money can buy to help billionaires avoid taxes.
