The two girls did that because they wanted to get Slenderman's attention, and they felt this would get him to come to them. Very sad and yet another example of a complete lack of parental presence. Video games will have little effect on a child unless the child has no other input. Which is usually the case in these incidents. What really amazes me is that it is obvious that the lack of parental attention happens more often with 'middle class and up' families, yet the common dialogue would have us believe that these incidents are from 'broken, poor families'. It is yet another example of how much reality differs from the steady stream of propaganda we are fed. And, it also makes me wonder, yet again, why the call is for a 'return' to anything. So much for progress...
