Another example is the AG opinion re not prosecuting sitting presidents, which works as long as the President and more than a third of the Senate are not corrupt.
The DOJ will continue to represent the former administration to the best of its ability as with its pitifully limp response to Judge Jacksons ruling that Barr lied about the existence of Muellers evidence of obstruction.
Whenever you find yourself saying, Somebodys gotta pay! thats an indication that youve fallen into the world of hard cases make bad law. Its a warning signal that you need to be extra careful to think through the logical implications of every legal rule you adopt, so you dont inadvertently create legal rules that do not work well when theyre generalized to other cases (where the President is not corrupt).
