The nearly 40,000 Americans killed each year since 2016 by gun violence exceed the number of people killed by car accidents (39,000), despite the fact that in 2017 there were 221.7 million licensed drivers, and only 72 million registered gun owners.

To drive a car, it must be registered and the operator must be trained and licensed. Same should be true for guns. Semi-autos and pistols should be banned. You can protect your home or fight tyranny with a bolt action and a shotgun. I served two infantry combat tours. Was authorized a 9mm and never used it. Pistols are best used for committing crimes.
