12. On a related note...

Look into shortages of propylene oxide which is a feedstock for various chemicals used in polyurethanes including urethane foams which are used in applications from insulation to mattresses. Dow, Huntsman, BASF and Covestro have been on Force Majeure meaning their customers are on allocation and delivery is uncertain. The storm back in the early part of the year in Texas damaged plants (yeah for the shitty electrical grid! Not.) and plants there also were shutting down Q3/Q4 to replace damaged equipment. Isocyanates, MDI, TDI AND HDI, coming from China and Korea have been hammered with high tariffs. Shipping container pricing to get products here from the East have sky-rocketed in cost. I have heard of prices for shipping a 40 foot container going as high as 40K when they were prior to COVID 2-3K. In addition, ports are clogged with ships awaiting unloading. I heard a story, donít know if it is true, that some ships are so far offshore waiting to get into port that they canít drop anchor.
