When I was a kid back in the sixties, my brothers and I, our friends, and all the neighborhood kids played cowboys and indians, cops and robbers, and assorted mock war games-with toy guns, sticks, and our imagination. Only a couple of the kids bought guns as adults, and none of us ended up a violent threat to society. What we did probably wasn't much different than video games, although we were outside and had to use our imagination more...no graphic detail on a screen. But we did see plenty of horror flix at the movies.
I'm not sure that much has changed, but it seems the kids now are ending up troubled as they reach adulthood.
