𝝰 are not very bad since they are readily stopped in a few meters. As long as you don't breathe/smoke them in or ingest them

?s are more energetic and penetrating---either as normal electrons or positrons. Best avoided.

gammas are very bad, as high-energy X-rays, they knock electrons around, break chemical bonds, ruin atoms, fracture nuclei, and deposit energy where it is unwanted.

I was involved in numerous evaluations for the DOE--from salt domes to granite to sending to the Sun.... Obama made two big mistakes: Yucca Mountain was a well-thought-out plan, but NIMBY. Obama killed it.

Little known but significant: thorium reactors (and others) can actually "burn" trans-mutate half-life exhausted elements and make good energy. Obama killed the program,. He never said why.
